Born in Fauquier County, Virginia, February 18, 1811.
Created a Knight Templar in Zanesville, Ohio, June, 1850; affiliated with Nashville
Commandery I, June 15, 1871. Was Judge of the Court of Common Pleas of Morgan
County, Ohio, for seven years; Vice-President of Southeastern Ohio Railroad
Company. Died January 19, 1880.

STOUT, SAMUEL HOLLINGSWORTH..
Physician.

Born Nashville, March 3, 1822. Created a Knight Templar in Nashville Commandery I, August 31, 1849; been Master
of Lodge. Member of Grand Lodge and served upon the leading committees in that
body. Was Surgeon in the Confederate Army, enlisting as such in 3d Tennessee
Regiment; was promoted to be Medical Director of Hospitals of Bragg’s Army, and at
one time had charge of all the hospitals from the Savannah to the Mississippi River.
