Dr George W F (Washington Fergus) Price, a Methodist clergyman formerly of Huntsville, AL, founded the Nashville College for Young Ladies which first occupied a building facing 9th Ave (also called Vauxhall Place) and he may have built what we knew as the Vauxhall Apartments when his college moved into it. I believe the original building was then used as a dormitory. Read William Waller's "Nashville in the 1890s" for info about Price's Pups and Ward's Ducks.
